KAKE, the ABC affiliate in Wichita, Kansas, has an opening for a News Producer.  We are a fast-paced newsroom that puts an emphasis on breaking news and weather coverage.

DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

• Responsible for directing reporters and photographers to complete assigned tasks, and structuring newscasts to fit within time parameters
• Respond to viewer inquiries and make regular “beat” calls to stay on top of the latest news developments
• Active participant in editorial meetings and take a leadership role in generating story ideas
• Must be active in social media and embrace producing content for multiple platforms
• Must be a team play with a positive attitude and desire to win

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 1 year of television news experience is preferred
• College degree in English, Broadcast Journalism or Mass Communications or equivalent experience
• Strong writing ability, outstanding organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in multi-tasking, and have a flexible work schedule
